For those looking to embrace spring by exploring breathtaking landscapes, the leading tours and activities company has analyzed global Google search volumes** to identify Europe’s most sought-after national parks. From towering mountains to crystal-clear lakes and lush forests, the list showcases five spectacular destinations to recharge and connect with nature.

Europe’s most searched national parks
  • Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia. With over 2 million searches in the past year, this Croatian natural wonder tops the ranking. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, it is famous for its 16 interconnected lakes linked by cascading waterfalls, accessible via a network of trails and wooden walkways.
  • Krka National Park, Croatia. A paradise for nature lovers, this park is also home to rich cultural and historical heritage, including Krka Monastery and the ancient Roman military camp of Burnum. However, its real highlights are the stunning waterfalls, particularly Skradinski Buk.
  • Peak District National Park, United Kingdom. A source of inspiration for Jane Austen, the country’s oldest national park is known for its rolling hills, caves, charming villages, and scenic hiking and cycling trails. Notable sites include the villages of Eyam, Castleton, and Bakewell, as well as Chatsworth House, the mansion featured in Pride and Prejudice.
  • Thingvellir National Park, Iceland. Part of the famous Golden Circle route, this park holds great historical significance as the site where the Icelandic parliament was founded in 930 AD. Its unique geology allows visitors to witness the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, as well as the striking Almannagjá and Silfra fissures—Silfra being a favourite among diving enthusiasts.
  • Ojców National Park, Poland. The smallest national park in the country, yet rich in natural and cultural heritage. Located near Kraków, it features unique rock formations such as Hercules’ Mace, numerous caves, and historic landmarks like Ojców Castle.
