What do you enjoy most in your job with TUI In Malta?

Being responsible for excursions and transfers is both challenging and satisfying. The workload is mixed between planning and dealing with all kind of suppliers. My main role is ensuring our guests enjoy the best holiday experience possible.

What is special about Malta?

Our capital Valletta is steeped in history and architecture. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and is the European Capital of Culture in 2018. Besides taking in the history and culture you can chill at one of the many pavement cafés and watch life go by.

Which beach would you recommend in Malta?

My favourite is the Blue Lagoon which is situated next to the island of Comino. The calm water of the lagoon reflects the cyan blue of the sky over the pure white sandy seabed. This beach is perfect for snorkelling or just simply relaxing. You can experience this on our exclusive “TUI Triple Cruise“ which runs every Monday.

What local food should visitors try in Malta?

Maltese food is rustic! Look out for Lampuki Pie, which is a fish pie, Rabbit stew and the beef olives called Bragjoli. The snacks that must be tried are Hobz biz-zejt – Maltese bread dipped in olive oil, rubbed with ripe tomatoes and filled with tuna, onions, garlic and capers as well as Pastizzi which are flaky pastry parcels filled with ricotta or peas.

What is the best experience in your region that no visitor should miss?

My recommendation is our former capital and medieval town of Mdina. Our TUI Collection excursion “Heart of Malta“ will take you away from the bustling towns and resorts to the central part of Malta, an area steeped in tradition and history. Together with coastal scenery, rural towns and villages, this trip ticks off magnificent sights all day.

Did you know…

… that with history dating back 5,000 years, Malta was once a hub for several European and North African invasions.
