Every year millions of guests spend a relaxing holiday with TUI. Service, consultation, the flight, the offers in the hotel or on the ship as well as the excursions and activities at the holiday destination – all this makes up the moments of the holiday. And it is precisely these moments that were awarded a total of 39 times in 2022.
Internationally in ten markets, business segments and subsidiaries – the Group received awards for outstanding marketing initiatives and teams as well as for excellent service, most of them as best tour operator. But TUI has also been recognised as an attractive employer and for the sustainability of the company. TUI employees see this above all as an incentive for 2023.
With 13 awards, TUI UK&I was named best tour operator in almost all categories at the British Travel Awards. In addition, readers of The Sun newspaper voted TUI the most trusted travel brand. The TUI UK marketing team also took 1st place at the prestigious Drum Awards for the "Holiday from Home" commercial during the Corona pandemic, in which people re-enacted their holiday at home and dreamed of a new trip.
In Germany, there were two fairness awards from the German Institute for Service Quality - first place in the tour operator category and second place for TUI fly in the airline category. In France and the Netherlands TUI was also awarded best tour operator. In Austria, TUI was named the travel agency and tour operator with the highest customer satisfaction. TUI also received the "TOP Lehrbetrieb" seal of quality from the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and the Superbrands Award, confirming the high level of trust Austrians place in the TUI brand.
In the Nordic countries the focus was on other aspects: for the Swedes TUI has the most innovative employer branding and the country's business students voted TUI the most attractive employer. In Denmark, TUI received the award for the most sustainable travel brand.
In the cruise sector, both TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises received awards. TUI Cruises received, among others, the Fair Play Award of the Cruise Initiative in the service category. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises was named Luxury Cruise Company of the Year at the Luxury Network International Awards.
TUI also received two popular World Airline Awards from Skytrax: TUI Airways was named Best Leisure Airline in the UK and TUI fly received the corresponding award for Germany.
The social commitment of the TUI Care Foundation, initiated by TUI, also received international recognition. In particular, the Tourism Recovery Programme initiated by the TUI Care Foundation in cooperation with the non-governmental organisation ‘enpact’ received several awards. The programme to support several hundred small local tourism businesses that were particularly affected economically by the pandemic received three gold and three silver awards at the World Travel Market's Responsible Tourism Awards. The awards were presented in November during the World Travel Market in London.
