As a Group Chief Information Officer, Pieter Jordaan is tasked with the responsibility of overseeing TUI's Global Technology, overall architecture, and strategy for global platforms. He is leading the charge in modernizing TUI's technology into a cloud-based product platform. Pieter is also responsible for the IT security, data-centres, network and cloud infrastructure across all the countries in the TUI Group.
Pieter began his professional journey in the fields of Information Technology and Engineering, where he built a strong foundation of expertise and leadership for market-leading companies across various sectors. His experience spans from retail, online dealing, online banking, asset servicing, asset management, retail banking, cash management, supply chain management, personnel management to aviation and tour operations.
Between 2000 and 2005, Pieter developed early internet banking and trading platforms for esteemed clients such as Halifax Bank and Bank of New York Mellon. He then made his mark by focusing on Transformation and Enterprise Architecture from 2005 to 2014, serving clients like Meryl Lynch, Barclays Bank, HSBC and Channel 4.
Before his appointment as CIO, Pieter served TUI for more than eight years, during which he held the position of Head of IT Solutions, and later as Group Chief Technology Officer. In these roles, he was responsible for the technological development and harmonization of numerous Group platforms, and the successful implementation of the company's cloud strategy.
