What do you enjoy most in your job with TUI in Spain?

I love that you never know what comes next! Our customers have various interests and I enjoy recommending what to see and what to do according to their interests. I have to stay flexible and open-minded every day. This really keeps me motivated.

What is special about Fuerteventura?

We have approximately 330 days of sunshine per year and more than 100 white sandy beaches all around the island. From the seemingly endless 26km long beach in Jandía, in the south, to the small lagoons on the deserted island of Lobos – there is enough space for everyone.

Which places would you recommend in Fuerteventura?

Fuerteventura is full of hidden gems! A must see is Betancuria with its cobbled streets and historic buildings. Ajuy on the West coast is a lovely fishing village that is surrounded by immense cliffs with natural caves which is also a must see.

What local food should visitors try in Fuerteventura?

The “Papas arrugadas“ with mojo sauce have been voted one of the best tapas amongst all Spanish tapas! An unusual local product is definitely what we call “Gofio“. It is toasted corn or wheat flour which is mixed into many things such as coffee, soups or desserts.

What is the best experience in your region that no visitor should miss?

The centre of the island is gorgeous. The beautiful rounded mountain tops emit a sense of tranquillity. My favourite excursion is “Fuerteventura uncovered” where you visit an old lighthouse in the North and stop on the tallest mountain in the centre of the island to enjoy the stunning views. You will also see the small, historic village of Betancuria and a local goat farm. But the highlight is definitely the lunch in one of the best restaurants on the island!

Did you know …

… that Fuerteventura is the oldest island in the Canary Islands dating back 20 million years?
