What do you enjoy most in your job with TUI in Morocco?
As a Tour Leader, I like showing people with different interests my home region. What I enjoy most is sharing the Moroccan culture with them. Each tour is a new experience that I lead with care and passion.
What is special about Agadir?
Agadir is considered the top beach resort in Morocco with its fancy sand beach, promenade and marina. Its old fortress, the “Kasbah“, reveals the city’s history and offers stunning views over Agadir, the bay and the surrounding Atlas Mountains. Another highlight is the big market, the Souk, where you can find anything you may look for, such as Moroccan handicraft and souvenirs.
What natural spot would you recommend in Agadir?
Agadir is a very good starting point for different trips or activities: “Taghazout“ is one of the best known surf spots. Moreover, you can watch a special bird species called "bald ibis" in the Souss-Massa National Park that any ornithologist would love to see in the wild.
What local food should visitors try in Agadir?
Every visitor should try spiced Tajines and Couscous. Peppermint tea is the national drink and also called “Moroccan Whiskey“. It is a symbol of hospitality as well.
What is the best experience in your region that no visitor should miss?
I recommend the TUI Collection excursion “Magical Marrakesh“. It shows you the exoticism of the orient, the order in the chaos, and the Hispano-Moorish architecture which can be admired in monuments such as the Bahia Palace and the Medressa Ben Youssef. Last but not least you will visit the maze of its colorful souks which are a paradise for big shoppers. “Jaemaa el-Fnaa“, the main square and market place of Marrakesh, is part of the UNESCO Heritage, where you can watch snake charmers, storytellers, acrobats and many more people entertaining you. The full-day tour includes Moroccan lunch and dinner which are organized in two different Moroccan houses with oriental flair.
… that Morocco is the only place in the world where argan oil is produced? Argan trees are also called goat trees because goats climb on them to eat the leaves if they have nothing to eat on the ground.
