Following the culinary impressions from the Asian TUI hotels, the third part of our world tour will take us to a holiday region which this year is entitled to cherish hopes of a white Christmas. Austria is the number one winter sports destination in Europe and attracts large numbers of visitors into the mountains around the holiday period. Also, starting this winter, the Group's latest hotel brand, TUI BLUE, is represented with its first hotel in the Alps, and offers an ideal location for winter sports fans and hikers in Schladming.
A culinary journey around the world: the taste of a TUI Christmas
Third stop: Austria
While the skiers are racing down the country’s downhill slopes, the ROBINSON Club Ampflwang in Austria's Hausruckwald is a particularly attractive destination for families. In order that both the large and small gourmets are satisfied in the new Panoramarestaurant, during the Christmas holidays the holidaymakers will be spoiled with a lavish buffet. Besides the traditional Christmas Goose, head chef Andy Aichhorn and his team will also be offering calorie-reduced alternatives at the WellFit buffet, as for example "Pike perch wrapped in ham".
Nevertheless, in the winter cold, the hearty dishes such as, for example, "Cream of porcini mushroom soup" and the Austrian classic "Kaiserschmarrn mit Zwetschgenröster & Apfelmus" ("Shredded pancake with stewed plums and apple puree") should not be missed. If you want to cook for the holidays at home, you can try the following game dish à la ROBINSON: Pheasant breast on tagliatelli with chantarelles and vegetables.
The Austrian Christmasbakery
As an inspiration for all guests staying at home, for the holidays the Club will be sending out a small brochure with recipes from the Christmas bakery. With the "Linzeraugen", a genuine Austrian bakery specialty can also take its place on the basket of biscuits in the home.
