WHAT ARE THE TUI SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT AWARDS?

The TUI Sustainability Impact Awards create an opportunity for our suppliers within IT, Indirect, Cruise and Airline procurement areas to share their sustainable innovations, initiatives, and actions. The awards started in 2022 for our IT partners, as the ‘TUI Green IT Awards’ and following two successful iterations shining the spotlight on innovation and sustainable development, TUI has decided to grow the awards to cover additional business areas. The aim of these expanded awards has remained the same though; to create a community of change makers within our suppliers and partners. The awards have been designed to establish ongoing dialog and exploration with our partners to create a more sustainable future. Winners will be invited to share their knowledge with our TUI colleagues.

HOW DO THE AWARDS WORK?

There are four business areas that make up the awards: IT, INDIRECT, CRUISE AND AIRLINE. Each of these business areas will then have three awards focusing on key areas we have identified to drive sustainable action; PEOPLE, PLANET and PROGRESS.

Once each business area has awarded their winner for PEOPLE, PLANET and PROGRESS, there will be a final jury for all winners across the business whereby one winner in each category will get an additional special recognition for going above and beyond which will be chosen by a final jury including members of the GEC.

WHAT ARE THE THREE AWARD CATEGORIES?

PEOPLE: Empower to drive development. Initiatives which help local people and communities benefit from tourism. Find out more here.

PLANET: Reduce our footprint. Initiatives which reduce the environmental footprint of holidays. Find out more here.

PROGRESS: Accelerate the transformation. Initiatives which use scale to increase the positive social and environmental impact of holiday experiences. Find out more here.

HOW CAN WE SUBMIT OUR ENTRY?

Suppliers submit their sustainable initiative via an online survey, sharing information such as what problem they are solving, what their initiative was, how it was delivered, and what benefits were achieved. Importantly, we also ask what potential the project has for TUI & the tourism industry, and how TUI can support to drive this forward.

All entries will be reviewed and shortlisted ready for a final assessment by a panel of judges for each business area, who will choose the three category winners.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF ENTERING?

This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your amazing efforts that shouldn’t go unnoticed and will hopefully inspire and drive sustainable actions from others. We hope that you will take inspiration from other initiatives from other suppliers and entries. We will hold awards ceremonies for each area that invites the shortlisted winners from each domain; IT, INDIRECT, CRUISE and AIRLINE where winners will be announced, and attendees will have the opportunity to get together and discuss ideas with each other and TUI colleagues.

Winners will be advertised on the TUI Group website & social platforms and can share their achievement on their own platforms. Participants can become part of a community of changemakers to help drive sustainability.

  • Partnerships for sustainability: FLIGHTKEYS works together with TUI and other partners to reduce aviation's non-CO2 emissions through contrail avoidance. FLIGHTKEYS delivers contrail forecasts to flight dispatchers for the pre-planning phase, while providing pilots real-time decision support to avoid contrails in flight.
