What does the experience in a TUI Blue For Families hotel look like?

TUI Blue for Families is our new concept designed specifically to ensure  that all members of the family are able to enjoy a magical holiday together. Our programme is created to cater for all ages and all experiences within the family. From relaxation to high energy qualified sport sessions and the added value of our qualified/international Childcare team. During the season, even with the COVID-19 restrictions in place, our hotel still aims to provide 5 star service to all of our guests, with the International TUI team and Hotel working closely together to bring all expectations to reality.

Do you still offer child care and kids entertainment in summer 2020 – what changes have been made?

We still offer a variety of supervised activities for children aged 3 -11 in our Bamse- and @611-clubs and you can expect the same great service you’ve previously had from our fully trained staff. All our activities have been reviewed and any that we cannot guarantee social distancing have been amended or removed and we are focussing on those that we can deliver safely and enjoyably.  We operate 6 days a week with specially designed theme days and a Childcare programme where we’re spending more time than usual outside which is great for activities such as super hero training on our ‘super hero day’. In the kids club itself firm favourites such as ‘spy kids’ are still happening, with individual code crackers. Family time hasn’t been forgotten and you can still find the teams hosting family fun contactless games and challenges.. The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down, as supervised sessions are also offered 3 evenings per week.

Due to social distancing guidelines, sadly we aren’t able to operate our BabyClubs or Bamse Swim Schools. However we offer free Parent and Baby Sessions 3 times per week where parents can join with the little ones and play games at the baby pool.

Which hygiene measures have been implemented in the kids clubs?

All of our staff have received COVID 19 hygiene training. We’ve restricted group sizes to a maximum of 15 to make sure that we’re following social distancing guidelines and implemented a whole new sign in and collection experience with distance markers, hand sanitizer, masks and temperature checks on arrival. We’re making full use of the TUI BLUE app with guests signing up for sessions in advance and filling out all the detail to ensure there are never too many people gathered at once. Our clubs and equipment are deep cleaned daily and in addition, we complete a mini clean before and after each session, focussing on high-traffic areas such as door handles, chairs and bathrooms. We’ve added regular hand washing into the children’s routine, removed any equipment we are unable to effectively sanitise and ensured that each child gets their very own ‘arts and crafts’ pot to use for all the fun activities during the session.

Which excursions or activities can you recommend for families in the surroundings of TUI Blue For Families Aegean Blue?

There are so many beautiful places in Rhodes to discover and also many ways to do it, but if you are hankering after some adventure, the Kayaking tour is a great idea. You will embark on a five to seven mile trip along the east coast, taking in the scenery, caves and swimming opportunities in crystal clear water. You will be taken to Agathi or Haraki Bay with a guide who will show you some scenic spots. After lunch you will have free time to visit caves, you will definitely have the opportunity to discover the east coast from a whole new perspective.

Another great option for families is also to rent a car and go to one of the most magical places in Rhodes, Seven Springs is a natural oasis of cool woodlands and a lake, where families can enjoy some time together surrounded by nature, they will also have the chance to walk along one of the wooded trails and wade through the tunnel to the lake at the end of it.

Families can wander around the springs and then head to Tsampika Beach, a long stretch of golden sand washed by the Mediterranean. The calm and shallow water makes it ideal for families to paddle, swim and have fun in beautiful surroundings. This is one of our PLUS excursions and there is ice cream provided for every guest and a discount on sun loungers for TUI guests.
