An evening reception in the heart of Mallorca with many TUI partners on the Balearic island. On Saturday, TUI invited to the museum Palau March to celebrate the return to the TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca. On Sunday, 8,500 runners will run the TUI Palma Marathon, including 500 TUI colleagues.
The evening reception was attended by 130 guests from the worlds of politics, the hotel industry, associations, civil society and (sports) journalists from across Europe. They included, of course, TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel: “TUI stands for the best time of the year, for special holiday and leisure experiences – but also for activities with the whole family or groups of friends. Sport unites people, especially at our club brands such as Robinson. With the TUI Marathons in Palma and, from April 2025, also in Rhodes, we are demonstrating how we can connect the island's residents with guests. The TUI Palma Marathon is a marathon for everyone. This evening, our most important partners from politics, civil society and the tourism industry repeatedly emphasized this in good discussions. We feel at home here and would like to contribute to the island's sporting and cultural life.”
TUI emphasizes the particular importance to the exchange between politics, sports, business and society, especially with regard to sustainability. TUI has had close links with the island and the entire Balearic region for many decades. It has several offices on Mallorca and, with its own hotels and several joint ventures such as RIU and Grupotel, is one of the largest local employers.
Guests at the kick-off event for the TUI Palma de Mallorca Marathon included the Balearic Islands' Minister of Tourism Jaume Bauzá, the Executive Director of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zoritsa Urosevic, industry partners and hoteliers from Mallorca, the initiators of various sustainability projects of the TUI Care Foundation and many more. Among the guests were also the former TUI CEO Dr. Michael Frenzel and the TV presenter and TV producer Sabine Christiansen. Both have close ties to Mallorca.
The TUI Palma Marathon Mallorca will be streamed live on TUI's social media channels on Sunday morning – for example on Linkedin and Youtube. Tickets for the TUI Rhodes Marathon on April 6, 2025 will soon be available on the TUI Musement Website and in the TUI app.
