An insight into this year’s ‘Future Day’ in Germany.
Who owns TUI? How much is an airplane worth? And how do we market a company via social media? At this year’s ‘Future Day’ in Hannover, students gained answers to all of their questions about TUI. Kids from all over Germany, from year 5 to 9, were able to get an authentic insight to TUI as a company and as an employer.
In order to enable as many children as possible to participate, the day was held partly digitally this year, but this did not affect the conversation. During various presentations about important topics such as crisis management, social media and sustainability, the youngsters had the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask what they were curious about and answer questions. Such as, how many football stadiums we could fill with our guests per year.
After the presentations and a short break, the participants were encouraged to become active. Through a quiz and planning and organizing a vacation in small groups, they got to know the special features of the tourism industry in a playful way. To end the day, there was a broad range of questions about TUI and some of the students were also able to explore the campus grounds after a lunch break at the cafeteria. The feedback is one to be proud of; “TUI seems cool”, some of the children wrote in the digital chat.
And to resolve the issue regarding the football stadiums; with 21 million customers a year, and an average stadium size that fits 50,000 people we manage to fill at least 420 stadiums.
