Meet Abigail Varley who has joined us on the TUI International Graduate Scheme. Read on to find out what Abigail has been up to in her first two months…
Life as a Graduate – Abigail Varley
I am spending my first placement in the Manpower and Crew Planning (M&CP) team based in Wigmore House in Luton and having an amazing experience. I’ve supported a recruitment day, presented to Senior Managers, and already feel like part of the team. Plus, I’ve been invited to two conferences, and am looking forward to the other opportunities that this role will present in the coming months.
I am loving the fast-paced, and operational side of the Airline, and using my transferable skills as well as learning new things every day. It confirms that I’ve made the right decision to start my career with TUI.
Before joining, I was a Secondary School teacher in Computer Science and Spanish. I have always loved aeroplanes, travel, and modern languages, so a career in aviation was inevitable. The opportunity to experience four different roles across the entire group was too good of an offer to turn down!
I would like to extend my thanks to my line manager Donna Lizaitis and team Laura Litchfield and Graham Wright for making me feel part of the team and giving me the opportunity to develop, grow and shine.
When we asked what her key message was, Abigail said ‘I would strongly encourage anyone in my position to consider the International Graduate scheme.’
Next month, we’ll share more about how another of our graduates is getting on.
