TUI's British subsidiary is now flying to long-haul destinations again with its airline TUI Airways. The destination: Montego Bay on Jamaica. A total of 88 flights will be operated from British airports to Jamaica this summer, each with 345 seats on board the Dreamliner 787-9. There will be six flights weekly to Montego Bay, two flights from Manchester, three from London Gatwick and one flight from Birmingham. The first TUI long-haul flights in 15 months have departed from Birmingham Airport.
British TUI guests are currently flying to over twenty destinations and with the start of the school holidays in the UK last weekend, Britons are showing a strong appetite for travel. The number of departing guests in the UK almost doubled compared to the weekend a week ago. The Mediterranean holiday destinations are particularly popular, especially the Balearic Islands with Mallorca and Ibiza and the Spanish mainland. The Greek islands, especially Rhodes, are also high on the popularity scale of the British, ranking among the three most popular destinations of all. In addition to Spain and Greece, British TUI guests also like to fly to Cyprus, Portugal, Malta and Morocco this summer. In a few days' time TUI UK will also be offering holidays to Croatia again.
