For a few days now, TUI has been running a major repatriation campaign for holidaymakers who are stuck abroad because of the corona crisis. Over the next few days, around 400 flights are scheduled throughout the Group to take guests back home – 260 of these flights will head for the Canary Islands and Egypt.
TUI had already discontinued flights abroad in the night from Monday – as well as the majority of the entire programme consisting of package tours, cruises and hotel operations. TUI UK&I followed this approach on Wednesday. The return campaign is currently the top priority.
Together with Lufthansa and Condor, TUI fly is participating in additional flights chartered by the federal government. Contingents are made available to the Federal Foreign Office. Crisis teams, foreign missions and local staff are in contact. In many countries of destination, normal air traffic has been suspended due to the Corona pandemic.
