Environmental protection starts from a young age

Many activities offered by the kids’ clubs at TUI Blue hotels playfully incorporate the topic of sustainability. They include, for instance, building recycling stations with the kids or collecting waste items on the beach for recycled art projects.

From Summer 2020, the kids’ clubs will further expand their sustainability activities and introduce the “Mundo” story character. Mundo will playfully educate the children about the topic. They goal is for the children to realise that each time they see Mundo – the little earth – they will be dealing with sustainability topics. “Mundo’s adventures” and “Destination eco-mania” are sessions taking the children on a kind of trip around the world, confronting them with a range of sustainability problems requiring them to jointly find a solution. In addition, this year’s theme day will deal with Antarctica, with global warming playing a role.

The goal of the “Sustainable Blue“ sustainability initiative is to conserve resources while meeting the guests’ growing environmental awareness. It promotes more sustainable tourism through a range of measures. The initiative comprises ten different steps launched by hotels so as to contribute to a better world.
